Bull Products Receives Ministerial Visit for Green Bull Launch

  • 11th Jul 2023

The Rt Hon Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire and Minister of State (Decarbonisation and Technology), visited the Bull Products HQ in Hereford to officially launch the company’s new Green Bull division.

Bull Products was pleased to receive a visit from Rt Hon Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire and Minister of State (Decarbonisation and Technology) to its Hereford headquarters for the launch of Bull Products’ new Green Bull division.

“We were delighted to welcome Jesse Norman to our facilities and are honoured that he opened our new Green Bull division,” comments Sandy Damm, CEO at Bull Products. “Reducing waste and minimising carbon emissions in our product manufacturing, supply and servicing of our products is a top priority and that is why we are launching Green Bull. We had a great discussion around sustainability and the importance for businesses to make tangible and measurable progress to help the environment. The future of the construction industry has to be green, and we are setting a new standard for temporary fire protection and alarm systems used on construction sites.”

“Bull Products is a highly energetic and innovative Herefordshire business. It was a great pleasure to visit them again, meet the team and celebrate the launch of their new Green Bull division”

Through Green Bull, Bull Products is fully equipped to re-use its products when it is safe and practical to do so. Fire protection equipment, including fire extinguishers and trolleys, is re-used, incorporating the majority of the original components, to produce a finished product in full working condition, compliant with all relevant regulations.

“The scrapping of safety products when a building development is completed occurs far too frequently,” adds Sandy. “It’s a waste of resources, and also adversely affects carbon emissions through their disposal. Refurbishing products makes ecological and financial sense.”

Bull Products initial assessment is that the company will be able to refill and, therefore, recirculate back into the market around 35-40% of water and foam extinguishers returned to them. This will reduce transportation costs, product manufacturing and material costs.

Bull Products manufactures its fire alarms in-house and has a Made in Britain collective mark. The asset management solution, Fire360, which Bull Products has been offering since 2016, also enables products to be stored in a safe and secure environment when a site completes. They are then serviced, cleaned, delivered, installed and commissioned ready for use, when required, to a new site, a further example of the company’s commitment to sustainable practices.
